Elk Point has a new Fire Chief

The Town of Elk Point has a new Fire Chief in town.

Bryce Osinchuk filled the vacant position as previous Fire Chief Kent Bernard’s three-year term has come to an end. 

He began the elected role at the end of January with a unanimous majority. 

The Fire Chief is responsible for directing other volunteer firefighters and having authority on the scene of a fire. 

“I am from Elk Point, I grew up here and went to school K-12, so I am a local guy,” said Bryce Osinchuk, Elk Point Fire Chief.

He joined the Elk Point fire department in 2019 and was previously the Deputy Chief before taking on his new role. 

He will do a three-year term and then have the chance to be re-elected. 

The Elk Point Fire Department currently has 21 volunteer firefighters.

“Feels good to have the support from my peers and fellow firefighters to trust me in this role,” said Osinchuk.
