The family of Paul Henry George of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan is saddened to announce that the sunset for him on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the age of 81 years.
Paul Worked All His Young Life And Knew Many Friends From That Time. He Was A Band Council Member. He Followed The Cree Traditional Life From A Young Man That Was Adopted By An Elder Who Taught Him The Traditional Ways. In His Older Years, He Travelled Far And Wide To Help In Ceremonies. He Made Friends Wherever He Went As An Invited Guest. Paul Had A Magnetic Personality With His Strong Spiritual Belief System, He Was Always Willing To Help His Fellow Beings. His Spirit Name Is Described As An Eagle Soaring With Wings Open Floating Above The Ground. Paul Was A Strong Advocate For The Treaty Six Territory So He Knew Many Important Dignitaries Whom He Called Friends. Paul Had A Very Special Humorous Bond With His Precious Grandchildren.
Paul Is Lovingly Survived By His Loving Companion: Ethel Lamothe; Daughter: Emily (Bryan) Bell; And Raised As His Own Daughter: Carmen Kahpoonapit; His Adopted Daughter: Bernadette Mackowski; Including The Following Grandchildren: Damera, Jenny, Cameron Jr., Armond, Shane, Dezmand, Tacsheana, Bryan, Rodger; Great Grandchildren: Chanel, Chloe, Aubree, Liam, Harper-Cameron, Daniel, Kerri-Ann, Evander, Cristiano, Ebonee, Tavana, NevaeH, Natalia, Drayden, Memphis, Genisis; Great Great Grandson: Jayce Lewis; Siblings: Tommy, Maryann, Eric, Ronda, Barbara, Gordon, Daniel; And Numerous Nieces, Nephews And Other Relatives.
Paul was predeceased by his son: Cameron; parents: Adolphus Peeweenese & Cecile George; siblings: Pierre, Mary Louise, Caroline, Allan, Joseph, Delmer, Dirk, Simon.
Going Home, Sunday, February 19, 2023, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta at 12:00 p.m. Saskatchewan time, 11:00 a.m. Alberta time, to Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.
Funeral Service, Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Saskatchewan time, 10:00 a.m. Alberta time, at Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with Band Elders officiating. Final Resting Place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.
