EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Town of Bonnyville – Casual Labourer II – Seasonal Grass Collection Program

Are you between the ages of 18 – 30? Are you looking to gain some summer work experience? Do you want to make a difference in the Town of Bonnyville? Do you have a good work ethic, and enjoy the outdoors?

Work Hours:
Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Minimum Requirement:
• 18 Years of age or older.
• Valid Class Driver’s License.
• Experience hauling a tow behind trailer.
• Physically capable of manual labour including standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Project member in diverting biodegradable material going to landfill such as grass clippings and bagged organics.
• Towing trailer in congested alleys, tarping loads, and maintaining truck and trailer.
• Works with the roads department to provide road maintenance including pothole filling, crack filling, boulevard restoration and line painting.
• Assist in Town Programs such as residential round up, Canada Day Tourism, and assisting in preparation for special events as required.
• Performs maintenance to Parks and Public spaces, public works equipment operation.
• Working as a team member with summer parks crew and performing other related public works and parks duties.
• Lawn equipment operations, tree pruning, tree planting, playground and parks equipment maintenance, parks beautification and other related duties.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required.

This position is from May 2023 to September 2023.
(Start and end dates will be finalized closer to as determined by environmental factors)

• Lifting weights exceeding 10 kg and up to an approximate maximum of 20 kg.
