On January 15, 2023, Leon L’Hirondelle of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 55 years.
He is survived by his common-law partner of 30 years, Doris Steinhauer; son, Sheldon Steinhauer; step-children, Miranda “Holly” Steinhauer, Rebecca Lynn Steinhauer (Cody Powder) & Drayton James Steinhauer; grandson, Jermaine Jerome and numerous other grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn “Kate” Marie Cardinal, Faedra Theresa Ann (Alvin) Steinhauer & Sharon Lee Mary L’Hirondelle; brother, Stan Francis (Amy) L’Hirondelle; numerous nieces & nephews.
Leon was predeceased by his daughter, Chantel Jerome; son, Leon Shawn Steinhauer; parents, Irene Cardinal (nee Whiskeyjack) & Stanley L’Hirondelle Sr.; brother, Kurt Takakinaw.
A Wake will be held on Thursday, January 26 (leaving Grace Gardens at 11:00 a.m.) at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, Saddle Lake. Reverend Father Jerish Arackal will be officiating, with interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saddle Lake.
