Lac La Biche RCMP arrest male in arson investigation

On Dec. 5, 2022 around 2:30 p.m. Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a report of a structure on fire on Elinor Lake Road in Beaver Lake First Nation. Lac La Biche RCMP, Lac La Biche Fire Services, EMS and Lac La Biche County Peace Officers worked together in a coordinated effort to control the fire and provide medical services to the occupants of the house.

The source of the fire was determined to be suspicious. Lac La Biche RCMP started an investigation. As a result of the investigation Nicholas Pelletier (19) of Westlock was arrested and charged with Arson Disregard for Human Life and Aggravated Assault.

Following a judicial hearing, Pelletier was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial court on Jan. 16, 2023
