FROG LAKE EDUCATION AUTHORITY is currently accepting applications for (1) Full-Time Information Technology Manager to work out of our central office located at Chief Napeweaw Elementary School in Frog Lake First Nation #121 & #122  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To oversee the Information Technology Department for Frog Lake Education Authority which consists of 3 schools, Administration, Post-Secondary, Daycare & Head Start;
  • Supervise two Information Technology staff
  • Implement key business initiatives, including the maintenance of security and confidential information
  • Apply best practices in project management and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Oversee the implementation, monitor, and optimize key areas such as network operations, server operations, wireless network operations, security, storage management, corporate telecommunications systems, help desk support, and systems and infrastructure support
  • Oversee the maintenance of in-classroom technologies such as desktop devices, laptops, interactive displays, and multimedia projectors
  • Oversee the photocopiers and connect with the photocopier provider
  • Oversee the IT purchases
  • Providing IT guidance, advice, and professional learning to teachers and staff within Frog Lake Education Authority
  • Report to the Superintendent of Learning and provide a monthly IT report

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Must have the ability to: lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights and perform work in awkward positions
  • Good problem solving, organizational, time management, and record keeping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of human relations skills, keen attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize decision-making
  • Able to work constructively in a team setting, initiates and adapts well to change, performs all work on a timely basis, and works well under pressure
  • Have strong Cree cultural awareness/knowledge or be willing to learn

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Post-secondary education in the fields of computer science systems or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with supervision of Information Technology department and personnel
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of Windows Server Administration and Network Administration
  • Experience with Google Suite of Applications for Education
  • Certification with Microsoft Server
  • Proficient with professional backup solutions
  • Proven ability of developing and maintaining internal and external relationships
  • High level of general technical expertise, including knowledge of industry standards
  • Knowledge of software systems common to the K-12 education system
  • Reliable Transportation with a Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Pass a Child Welfare Record Check (CYIM)
