Gazebo on Main Street Bonnyville being torn down
Crews continued work on Friday morning to tear down the gazebo on Bonnyville Main Street.
The reason is because a lease between the Town and province was not renewed, and so the Town was responsible for either moving the gazebo or tearing it down. The gazebo is front of the Provincial Building and courthouse.
CAO Bill Rogers told Lakeland Connect that the cost to demolish it was significantly cheaper than moving it. He said it would be cheaper to tear it down and build another one.
Rogers said there may be a new gazebo built in the future, out near Jessie Lake and Slawuta Pond area.
