Bonnyville man remanded into custody after flight from police
A Bonnyville man is facing charges after police noticed a vehicle that was previously involved in criminal activity.
On December 2nd, Bonnyville RCMP were conducting proactive patrols in Bonnyville when a member observed a vehicle previously involved in criminal activity, police said.
The member identified the driver who was known not to be the owner of the truck.
A traffic stop was attempted but the driver fled, only to exit the vehicle a few blocks away and continue on foot.
A plain clothes member in an unmarked police vehicle observed the male attempting to get into another person’s vehicle.
He was subsequently arrested for flight from police and was found to be breaching conditions on matters for which he had been previously released and also happened to be prohibited from driving.
Christian Bubar, 36, from Bonnyville is charged with flight from police, drive while prohibited, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, breaching probation and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
He was brought before a Justice of the Peace who remanded him in to custody. He is set to appear before the courts on December 20th.
