Local COVID-19 testing location to close next month

COVID-19 testing services at the St. Paul Abilities Network (SPAN) gym are ending as of Dec. 13, due to declining use of the service.

 

 

 

 

Staff at the site have been performing fewer than 20 tests per month since September.

 

 

 

PCR testing for Albertans is available only for those who have clinical risk factors for severe outcomes, and those who live and work in high-risk settings. Individuals in the community who qualify for COVID-19 testing are encouraged to seek testing in Bonnyville at Shandro Contracting (#5 5402 55 Ave.)

 

 

 

With the change in location, Alberta Health Services encourages clients to be mindful of the instructions provided when booking online.

 

 

 

COVID-19 immunization will continue to be provided out of St. Paul Community Health Services, 5610 50 Ave.

 

 

 

Free rapid antigen testing kits remain available through pharmacies for at-home use. It is recommended you isolate if you have any of the core symptoms of COVID-19.
