Three candidates have submitted their paperwork in hopes of being the United Conservative Party nominee for the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul constituency with familiar political names.

Incumbent MLA David Hanson, former Bonnyville-Cold Lake MLA Scott Cyr, and former M.D. of Bonnyville Reeve Greg Sawchuk are the three choices voters will have to be the UCP candidate for the region.

Hanson won the election in 2019 for the new riding, after being the MLA for Lac-La-Biche-St. Paul-Two Hills from 2015 to 2019.

Cyr was the MLA from 2015 to 2019.

Greg Sawchuk served as the Reeve for the M.D. from 2017 to 2021.

Only residents of the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul constituency who are current members of the United Conservative Party on or before Nov. 19, 2022 are eligible to vote.

The election dates will be from Saturday, Dec. 10 to Monday, Dec. 12 in each community. However, dates and times have not yet been disclosed.
