St. Paul football dominates to win Provincials, advance to Final
St. Paul took over Sherwood Park on Saturday for glory.
The St. Paul Bengals are Provincial Champions after a dominating 58-13 win over the Edmonton Chargers and the St. Paul Lions hope to follow suit next weekend in a final of their own.
In the early game, the Lions roared to a 30-9 win over the Ardrossan Bisons, and now will head to Calgary with one goal in mind — a Tier IV Provincial Championship.
Their opponent will be the Drumheller Titans, who upset the 1-seeded W.R. Myers Rebels 27-6 in the other semifinal games.
This is the second Provincial title in St. Paul Bengals history. They were victorious in 2017 as well.
Meanwhile the Lions are returning to the Alberta Bowl for the third time in the past four calendar years. In 2018 and 2019, St. Paul came away with silver medals, but are hoping to rewrite history with a victory on Friday.
The championship will be held Hellard Field at Shouldice Park in Calgary this Friday. Kickoff is 4:00pm.
