Extreme cold warning in effect for Vermilion area

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for communities south of Bonnyville on Tuesday evening.

Temperatures are expected to drop to near -30 overnight, which will produce wind chill values near -40 by Wednesday morning. Conditions will improve late Wednesday morning, the weather service says.

Residents are asked to ensure they are wearing warm clothing when going outside.
