RCMP Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit arrest wanted man on sexual interference charge

Police have caught a man wanted on a sexual offence, RCMP said on Tuesday.

On Oct. 27, RCMP Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit arrested a male who was wanted on a charge of sexual interference. The investigation began with the St. Paul RCMP investigation in November of 2021.

Leslie Gerald Wuttunee, a 33-year-old from Edmonton, was arrested on this outstanding warrant in Edmonton.

A sexual interference charge can be administered to any person who touches anyone — directly or indirectly — for a sexual purpose under the age of 16-years-old, according to the Canadian Criminal Code.

Wuttunee has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial court on Nov. 3, 2022.
