Lac La Biche Elks Lodge sponsor Bold Center ball diamond for $25K

The Lac La Biche Elks Lodge has come forward with a major sponsorship at one of the Bold Center ball diamonds.

Last Wednesday, the Elks Lodge chose to donate $25,000 to have signage on Ball Diamond 1 to Lac La Biche County.

“I know one of the fellows in the county and I approached the county one day and asked what could we do for the community for a big donation. And we got talking about sponsorship of the ball diamonds and stuff like that,” said Elks president Danny Stevens.

“We’re looking to rev up our fundraising a little bit more. We haven’t done much in the last couple of three years, but our main focus is youth.” 

Mayor of Lac La Biche County Paul Reutov was on hand for the cheque presentation.

“Lac La Biche County is proud to support the community groups in the area and happy to see the Elks Lodge have recognition at the new ball diamonds at the Bold Center,” he told Lakeland Connect. 

The Elks Lodge has had a handful of new members join over the last year.

Since 2011, they’ve donated over $600,000 back to the Lac La Biche area.
