MLA Dave Hanson calls for local nominations for the Queen’s Platium Jubilee Medal

MLA David Hanson’s Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul constituency office is seeking nominations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal presentation within our constituency. Hanson’s constituency office will be accepting local nominations until the end of October (October 28, 2022).

There is a selection committee, with representatives from within our community, selecting the most deserving candidates for submission.

The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal will be awarded to 7,000 Albertans throughout 2022 in recognition of significant contributions to the province.

The Platinum Jubilee Medal program is continuing as planned despite the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and will conclude on February 5, 2023.

Eligibility

• Must be a constituent who is a Canadian Citizen, or has permanent residency status in Canada
• Been alive on February 6, 2022 – the 70^th Anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne
• Demonstrated contributions to Canada, Alberta, a particular region of Alberta, a community, or field
• Played a significant role in Alberta’s Covid-19 response at the local level, and/or provided significant volunteer service at the local level

All nominations will be confidential and must be for individuals – self-nominations are not accepted.  Nominators are asked to submit their name, contact info, and reason for nomination.

Information required on the nominees is Name, Age Range, Gender, Field of Endeavour, Home Address, Phone & Email, and a Citation.  The citation should be a concise (50-300 characters) description of the reasons why the nominee was selected with a focus on the achievements of the individual.
