Police investigate fire at Cherry Grove Rodeo Grounds
Police are investigating after the announcer shack at the Cherry Grove Rodeo Grounds sustained fire damage.
On September 9, Cold Lake RCMP received a complaint that the new announcer stands had been lit on fire at the Cherry Grove Rodeo Grounds, causing damage to two of the support legs.
Police are unsure if there was more than one person involved.
“We were deeply disappointed to discover that someone has recently attempted to burn down our newly built announcer building at the rodeo grounds. Not only is this disrespectful to the hundreds of volunteer hours it took to build, but it also endangered the surrounding homes in the area had the fire spread,” said the Cherry Grove Recreation & Agricultural Society online after the incident.
