Oil lease site break-in results in several charges for accused

The Bonnyville RCMP’s investigation into a break-in at an oil company lease site has resulted in several charges.

RCMP said on June 16th two suspects broke into a Canadian Natural Resources oil lease site on Range Road 485A several miles north of Glendon and stole a battery and gasoline.  

The suspects who were caught on video surveillance were tracked down at a residence in Beaver Lake Cree Nation near Lac La Biche, police said. 

With the help of the Lac La Biche RCMP, both suspects were identified and located committing similar offences in Beaver Lake Cree Nation.  

On July 6th, 29-year-old Demien Rosenkranz of Lac La Biche was charged with break and enter a business with intent and theft under $5000. He was remanded in custody, Bonnyville RCMP said, to appear in court late this month. 

After executing a search warrant, the Lac La Biche RCMP have also charged him with possession of property over $5000 and possession of property under $5000. 

His accomplice, a 36 year old male from Beaver Lake Cree Nation, is facing charges of break and enter a business, theft over $5000, possession of break-in tools and mischief under $5000. The search warrant that was executed by Lac La Biche RCMP resulted in this male being charged with 16 criminal offences.

Bonnyville RCMP is seeking an arrest warrant for the individual, police said.
