4 Wing will commemorate Canada’s birthday with a special flyby.

On July 1, 2022, 4 Wing Cold Lake will conduct a flyby over Kinosoo Beach in celebration of Canada Day, the air base said on Thursday. One CF-188 Hornet will be participating in this flyby, which will happen at approximately 11:15 a.m. over Kinosoo Beach.

The base said the aircraft will fly no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle over ground level.

“Royal Canadian Air Force flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. The Royal Canadian Air Force is proud to share in special events that allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of our personnel and aircraft to Canadians,” the PSA said.

The Canada Day parade will begin at 10:00am with opening ceremonies at the flyby to follow.

The Trews are the main act in the evening with fireworks at dusk.

Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.
