Stolen vehicle in Therien leads to weapons and drugs charges

Two people are facing charges after a stolen vehicle was found in Therien.

On Tuesday, Bonnyville RCMP with the assistance of Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction, Lakeland Crime Reduction and Police Dog Services located a stolen vehicle within the town of Therien. 

Police said the investigation led to the arrest of an adult male and female. While searching the vehicle, police found a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm. 

The male, 36-year-old Shawn Matthew Dean, has been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, three weapons related charges and failing to comply with a release order. 

Following a judicial hearing, Dean was remanded in custody to appear on June 28, 2022.

The female, 38-year-old Krystal Dawn Abraham, has been charged possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, two weapons charges, and failing to comply with a release order

Following a judicial hearing, Abraham was released with conditions and is also scheduled to appear in court on July 5, 2022.
