Bonnyville RCMP remove intoxicated driver with loaded firearm from road after chase

The Bonnyville RCMP has arrested a woman from Saddle Lake and she is facing 15 charges for a recent incident.

According to police, “On April 3, at 6:00 p.m. the Bonnyville RCMP received multiple calls of intoxicated driver almost hitting people and driving dangerously.”

“A member patrolled and located the vehicle which fled from police,” Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke said. “The vehicle was located a short time later in Kehewin and found to have a loaded firearm inside.”

A 33-year-old female from Saddle Lake was arrested and charged with 15 different Criminal Code Charges including Flight from a Police Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle, Driving while Impaired, Possession of Meth, Possession of Stolen Property, five Offences relating to the loaded firearm, four for Failing to Comply with a Release Order and one count of Failing to Comply with Probation.

She was brought before a Justice of the Peace who Remanded her until her first court appearance on April 19.
