Leader of the Advantage Party of Alberta running in Fort McMurray – Lac La Biche by-election.

Marilyn Burns, Leader of the Advantage Party of Alberta (formerly Alberta Advantage Party) is running as a candidate in the upcoming Fort McMurray – Lac La Biche by-election.

Burns describes the Advantage Party as unique from all other political Parties because of its values and member-owned governance model.

The Advantage Party says it is committed to the development of compassionate and self-reliant citizens and protection of individual freedoms, with a vison to establish trustworthy, accountable, effective and prudent government in Alberta.

Burns states, “The Advantage Party carried on the former Wildrose Party’s tradition of member-owned governance. The Leader of the Advantage Party must advance a Platform, being commitment, that closely aligns with the Policies and Constitution of the Advantage Party members. We held an Annual General Meeting on February 5, 2022, and the members brought forward policy ideas that they want. I
heard them, loud and clear. First and foremost, the Advantage Party members have incorporated a recognition of the sovereignty of God in the Party Constitution.”

Her Platform includes a commitment that an Advantage Party government will end all COVID-19 mandates and will conduct an investigation as to why Premier Kenney, Dr. Deena Hinshaw and Alberta Health Services enacted such harsh and damaging measures against Albertans.

The Alberta Health Services corporation that is partnered with Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum will be dismantled and the delivery of quality health case will be re-structured in Alberta.

The Advantage Party says it commits to holding a referendum on whether Alberta should become its own nation within nine months of forming government. Burns explains that this decision must rest with the people of Alberta. Each Albertan must be given the opportunity to have his and her vote heard on this very important question.

An Advantage Party government would integrate homeopathic and conventional medicine. Each Albertan will be provided a Health Spending Account in the amount of $500 to spend on the health care of his and her choosing. Alberta must establish its own police force, pension plan and Provincial taxation. It must manage its own natural resources, water, agriculture, energy and media, Burns added.

Burns concludes, “Brian Jean broke trust with Albertans once when he handed the Wildrose Party to Jason Kenney. He should not be given a second opportunity to break trust again.”

Election Information

A by-election has been called for the Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche region following Laila Goodridge moving into Federal politics and giving up her seat in the riding. Goodridge was elected as the MP for as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Fort McMurray—Cold Lake from the Conservative Party in the fall of 2021. She served as Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche from 2018 to 2021.

Candidate nominations are now open and end on February 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Advance Polls begin on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 and end on Saturday March 12, 2022.

Election Day is March 15, 2022. All polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Unofficial results will be available after the polls close on Election Day.

Official results will be announced on March 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
