M.D. approves funding for Iron River School playground
The Iron River School playground project got a boost this week from the M.D. of Bonnyville.
On February 10, Council approved an additional $137,000 donation to the Iron River School Association for the installation of a new, expanded playground.
The donation will be funded by the Park and School Reserve. The M.D. approved an initial donation of $125,000 in 2021 for the project, which came in at just over $372,000.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous support from the M.D.,” Alisha Kunec, Vice President of the Parent Council Association for Iron River School said “This playground will benefit not only the students at Iron River School but also families and children from neighboring communities. We are so excited to finally make it a reality for our kids.”
Earlier this week the Alberta Government also announced funding for the playground.
The announced funding ensures that the dream of the new playground for Iron River School students is now a reality.
The last bit of funding from the M.D. of Bonnyville will allow for the playground to be installed this summer.
