Restrictions Exemption Program Lifted at Town of Vegreville Facilities

In accordance with the Government of Alberta, the Restrictions Exemption Program (proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements) at Town of
Vegreville facilities has been removed, effective February 9, 2022.

As per the new provincial guidelines, capacity limits at the following Town of Vegreville facilities are now in effect:
• Wally Fedun Arena; temporary capacity limit of 500 attendees
• Vegreville Social Centre; temporary capacity limit of 500 attendees
• Vegreville Multiplex; temporary capacity limit of 500 attendees

Furthermore, as outlined by the province, the following Town of Vegreville facilities will resume operations with a capacity limit determined by their pre-existing fire occupancy load:

• Vegreville Aquatic and Fitness Facility (including pool, weight room, cardio room, and racquetball, wallyball and squash court)
• Dance Studio (located in the Vegreville Aquatic and Fitness Facility)
• Vegreville Centennial Library Gymnasium
• Town of Vegreville Council Chambers
• Town of Vegreville Administration Building
• Vegreville Sanitary Landfill Office
• Town of Vegreville Public Works Building
• Vegreville Materials Recycling Facility (VMRF)
• Vegreville Emergency Services Building (Fire Hall)

The Town of Vegreville reminds residents that, in accordance with the Government of Alberta, mandatory indoor masking for those 13 years of age and older will remain in effect across the province until Step 2 of the COVID-19 public health action plan, which is tentatively scheduled to start on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, if hospitalization rates are trending downward.

Meantime, mandatory masking requirements for those 12 years of age and under will be removed in Alberta effective Monday, February 14, 2022.
