BRFA recruiting volunteer members for Fort Kent Fire Department

Here is your chance to get involved in the community Lakeland residents who live close to Fort Kent. The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) is actively recruiting volunteers for the Fort Kent Fire Department.

They’re looking to fill the rack says Fort Kent Fire Chief Cordell Ackert.

“As far as what to expect when you’re here, it’s fun, we have a good family atmosphere,” Fire Chief Ackert said.

They are currently recruiting male or female members who live within proximity to the new fire station in Fort Kent.

“We’re looking for capable and responsible individuals that would like to get involved with their communities,” Fire Chief Ackert told Lakeland Connect. You can learn new skills and be involved with a family-friendly organization with room to grow and help others. Anyone can join. You just need to be 18 or older.”

Regional Fire Chief Dan Heney of the BRFA says it’s a chance to, “Gain incredible and rewarding experiences.”

“Support your community and become community-focused,” Regional Fire Chief Heney said. “Be part of something bigger than yourself.”

Regional Fire Chief Heney says volunteers will learn new skills and participate in professional-level training.

“Develop team relationships and camaraderie,” Regional Fire Chief Heney said.

The BRFA also has a Comprehensive Mental Health Program that is constantly evolving, Regional Fire Chief Heney added.

Reeve Barry Kalinski of the MD of Bonnyville Council says, “The BRFA has an amazing family-friendly atmosphere,” and encourages residents who have the time to join and become more community-oriented.”

The Fort Kent Fire Department has a new hall and new equipment, Reeve Kalinski added.

“Support the community and learn a new skill,” Reeve Kalinski said.
