Furniture Galaxy donates new washer and dryer to Cold Lake Long Term Care
Furniture Galaxy in Cold Lake-Bonnyville has been a part of the Lakeland since 1992 and is a family-run business that cares about its community.
You don’t have to look far to see the impact this furniture business has on the community, whether it’s a food back donation, supporting local athletes, or donating to seniors, the Furniture Galaxy family has one of the biggest hearts in the Lakeland.
One of their most recent ways to help the community was to donate a new washer and dryer to the hard-working staff and amazing residents of Cold Lake Long Term Care.
“We are honoured to give back to our local community,” Teegan Murphy from Furniture Galaxy told Lakeland Connect. “We were honoured to donate a brand new Samsung Front Load Washer and Dryer Set with sanitizing and steam cycles.”
Although the washer and dryer donation was a while ago Murphy continues to support the community around him every day which Lakeland Connect would like to highlight in a series of stories on the family-run business. During the time of the washer and dryer donation, Murphy said he saw a need and decided to help out the seniors of Cold Lake Long Term Care back in March of 2021.
“I said this has to change,” Murphy told Lakeland Connect. ” It’s especially important how this division is to our community and our elderly. We donated the entire value of a full brand new high efficiency, front load washer, and dryer and we are happy to do it.”
A kind gesture, while asking for nothing in return. The Murphy family calls the City of Cold Lake home and treats all residents like family.
Mayor Craig Copeland of the City of Cold Lake says, “Furniture Galaxy is a big supporter in our community for our non-profits and agencies.”
Furniture Galaxy and the Murphy family always give back to the community the Mayor says.
“The contributions have provided a helping hand for many years,” Mayor Copeland said.
