Vermilion teen awarded Cornerstone Co-op Spirit of Youth Scholarship

The 2021 Spirit of Youth Cornerstone Co-op Scholarship has been awarded to a local Vermilion teen.

The Cornerstone Co-op is offering scholarships to high school students that reside in their trading area.

On December 21, the scholarship recipient Dixie Allen was awarded $1000 for the Cornerstone Co-op Spirit of Youth Scholarship for students that attended an East Central Alberta Catholic School.

“We wish you luck Dixie on pursuing your Bachelor of Education at Red Deer College,” Cornerstone Co-op stated on social media.

 If you know someone who contributes to their community through volunteer work and who could use some help, encourage them to apply for the 2022 year, Cornerstone Co-op says.

The scholarship award is chosen by the Community Engagement Committee based on the following criteria:

• Academic Final Marks- 40 per cent

• Community Involvement- 60 per cent

To qualify students must be attending a post-secondary education related to Business or Cornerstone’s Retail commodities

Support of Cornerstone Co-op, and must have current or prior employment with Cornerstone Co-op.
