Pontiacs hosting Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday

The Bonnyville Pontiacs have just three games left until an extended Christmas break begins late next week, but the team will have to bounce back after some struggles in their recent outings.

The Yaks returned home with 2 of 4 points after losing in the shootout to the Grande Prairie Storm 3-2 and in overtime vs the Whitecourt Wolverines 4-3 on Wednesday night.

That makes it three straight losses to North opponents, which still leaves a 16-4-2 record against their divisional foes this season and just two points back of the Spruce Grove Saints for second place in the division.

Teddy Bear returns

For the first time in two years, the Pontiacs are hosting the Teddy Bear Toss presented The Brick Bonnyville during Saturday night’s contest against the Olds Grizzlys.

Fans can bring stuffed animals or purchase a Brickley Teddy Bear at the game or at The Brick during the lead-up to the game. All teddy bears will be donated to Big Hearts of Lakeland to give to a family in need this Christmas and Brickley Bear purchases enter you to win a $300 gift card, with all the proceeds are going to the Children’s Miracle Network – Edmonton Stollery Hospital.

After that, comes two games against the North leading Fort McMurray Oil Barons, on the road for a matinee game on Sunday and then hosting the MOB on Thursday night for the last game before the Christmas holidays.

The Yaks are off from Dec. 16-28 returning for a game in Lloydminster on December 29 and hosting the Bobcats on Dec. 30.
