The Bonnyville RCMP was involved in 150 investigations during the time period of December 3-10.

In the afternoon of December 3, St. Paul Traffic Services conducted occupant restraint enforcement in the Bonnyville Detachment area. The members made contact with several drivers and issued at least 12 seatbelt tickets.

On December 8, at 2:00 a.m. the 27-year-old male driver of a car was pulled over because the vehicle he was driving was missing a headlight. The male from Fishing Lake was suspended and charged accordingly with Driving while Suspended. The vehicle he was driving was towed for 30 days.

On December 8, at 10:50 p.m. a member of the Bonnyville RCMP was patrolling 54th Avenue and conducted a roadside check with a nearby UTV (side by side). The driver was determined to be suspended. The 65-year-old male was charged with operating the UTV while suspended and the UTV was towed for 30 days. Bonnyville RCMP would like to remind motorists that while operating an off-highway vehicle, the Rules of the Road, the Off-Highway Vehicle Act, and Traffic Safety Act laws still apply.

Sgt. Parke would like to encourage the public to attend the Sobey’s parking lot on Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. with a non-perishable food item for our local food banks. She also hinted that Santa might be on hand to help accept the donations.
