Kryla’s Ukrainian Dancers Supper Fundraiser being held this Saturday
Perogies, anyone?
Look no further, the Kryla’s Ukrainian Dancers from Bonnyville have got supper covered for you this Saturday.
On December 11, a takeout Ukrainian Supper will be served between 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Susan Paquin is the Secretary for the Kryla’s Ukrainian Dancers non-profit organization.
“We are holding a perogy takeout supper fundraiser this Saturday at the Beaver River Fish and Game Building,” Paquin told Lakeland Connect.
A fundraiser is being held this Saturday to help keep the organization functional.
“With the bingo hall closing earlier this Fall, we needed to find another way to help offset our operational costs for our organization,” Paquin said.
Pre-order and walk-in order options are available, Paquin added. A large plate will cost $15 which has eight perogies, and if you’re not that hungry they have a smaller plate option which costs $10 and has five perogies.
“Each plate will also come with ham, lazy holubtsi, pickles, salad, and dessert,” Paquin said. “If you do have multiple orders to pickup please bring your own recyclable bag or box for easier transport of the takeout containers.”
The Ukrainian dancing club was started in Bonnyville in 1977 and was originally called the Bonnyville Ukrainian Dancers. In 1987 the name was changed to the Kryla Ukrainian Dancers. Unfortunately, their enrolment numbers are way down as a result of COVID-19 and its restrictions.
“We currently have 27 dancers ranging in age from four to 51-years-old,” Paquin said.
The Kryla Ukrainian Dancers need your support this Saturday.
