Level 1 Peace Officer promoted to Sergeant in County of Vermilion River
A level one Peace Officer in the County of Vermilion River (CVR) has been promoted to Sergeant.
Following the retirement of Roland Feist, the Director of Protective Services has seen fit to promote Peace Officer Level 1 Chris Garner, to the rank of Sgt.
Director of Protective Services Kirk Hughes says Sgt. Garner began his law enforcement career with the Military Police, after a stint with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). After leaving the Canadian Forces, Sgt. Garner served as a Community Peace Officer in the M.D. of Bonnyville, where he rose through the ranks to become a Superintendent.
“Chris Garner has been working for the CVR since January 2021 and brings with him over 30 years of law enforcement experience,” Hughes said. “Congratulations to Sgt. Garner – his dedication to community safety and education over enforcement builds on the CVR goals of safe roads and safe communities. We’re lucky to have such a qualified Peace Officer head our program here within the County of Vermilion River. Certainly someone with his credentials and leadership skill set is a huge bonus to our organization.”
Congratulations on the promotion Chris.
