New pot shop coming to Bonnyville

An application was received and approved for Green Solution Cannabis by Council on November 9, for a cannabis retail establishment at 4809W 50 Avenue.

Elisa Brosseau is the Mayor of the Town of Bonnyville.

“The application was approved according to our bylaws and on the condition that they meet all of AGLC’s requirements,” Mayor Brosseau told Lakeland Connect.

According to Town of Bonnyville documents, “There were 61 notifications that were mailed out and we had a response rate of 8.2 per cent. As of the writing of this document there has been one objection from adjacent landowners that were contacted regarding this matter.”

There are currently two other cannabis shops which operate in Bonnyville.

“It’s important for the Town to continue attracting new businesses for many reasons, such as, job creation, tax relief, filling up our empty buildings,” Mayor Brosseau said.
