Town of Bonnyville asks you to remove curb ramps for winter
Winter is upon us in the Lakeland Region and clearing snow from the streets will become necessary. The Town of Bonnyville is therefore asking residents to remove their curb ramps.
The Town of Bonnyville says, in order to avoid a sharp access into their driveways some residents use curb ramps, steel plates, rubber ramps, and wood. The objects, if left in place, become a hazard.
The same applies to ornamental rocks and other items placed along the curbs.
“The potential for these objects to be picked up by the snowplows create safety issues to our staff, equipment, and the public,” the Town of Bonnyville stated. “To prevent injury or damage, we ask that these items be removed or pulled back inside the property line where they will not be an issue. We ask that this be done no later than November 15.”
If you require assistance, please contact the public works maintenance shop as soon as possible at 780-826-3550.
“If they are not pulled back, town staff will be advised to pick them up and dispose of them at the landfill,” the Town of Bonnyville stated. “If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Public Works at 780-826-3550. We look forward to your co-operation in this matter to ensure safe and effective snow removal for all in the community.”
