RCMP Briefs from October 29 to November 5

The Bonnyville RCMP was involved in 113 investigations from October 29 to November 5.

On October 29, at 2:50 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP received a call of a vehicle theft in progress at a business parking lot in the 6000 block of 50th Ave. The members attended and noted a white F-350 was damaged. The suspect(s) had driven off in a maroon truck just before police arrival. The matter remains under investigation.

On October 30, just past midnight, the Bonnyville RCMP conducted a curfew check with a 25-year-old male from Kehewin who was on a curfew to be home at that time. The male was not at home and a Warrant has subsequently been issued for his arrest for failing to comply with his curfew.

On November 2, the Bonnyville RCMP was made aware of a Business Break and Enter & Theft that took place in the 6000 block of 47th Avenue sometime in the previous few days. Thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen and the matter remains under investigation.

On November 2, at 4:30 p.m., the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a residence in Kehewin to remove an unwanted male under the influence of drugs & alcohol. The male was being abusive and refusing to leave. RCMP attended and located the male who resisted arrest. The 43-year-old male from Kehewin is charged with Mischief, Resisting Arrest, and four Counts of Failing to Comply with his Probation Order. A bail hearing was held and the Justice released the male on $50 cash. His court appearance is set for November 23 in Bonnyville.

On November 4, the Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a fifth-wheel trailer being broken into and severely damaged. The trailer had been parked at a rural property along Highway 41 near Township Road 612. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Bonnyville RCMP or Crimestoppers.

On November 5, at 4:40 a.m., the Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to a Break and Enter in progress at a business located in the 6000 block of 56 Avenue. The owner could see the culprit live on a security camera but unfortunately, the culprit escaped out the back while RCMP was on route. The matter is ongoing and the RCMP will be utilizing the video surveillance footage during the investigation.
