Town of Bonnyville Council sworn in
Town of Bonnyville Council was officially sworn in during their Organizational Meeting on Tuesday.
On October 26, Town CAO Bill Rogers officially started the Organizational Meeting until Mayor Elisa Brosseau was sworn in.
Once that was completed, Councillors Brian McEvoy, David Sharun, Kayla Blanchette, Byron Johnson, Phil Kushnir, and Neil Langridge were officially sworn in.
“Well, last night, it started out really great. We actually had a meeting on Monday, just a kind of a luncheon to get to know each other,” Mayor Brosseau said. “I learned that pretty much everybody around the table has deep roots in this community. They’re very passionate about the Town of Bonnyville. And so it was a great way for us to kind of connect before the big Council meeting.”

Mayor Brosseau says shortly after the swearing in during the meeting on Tuesday, the newly elected officials then divided up all the appointments in regards to boards and committees.
“Everybody can get a good idea of what their next four years is going to look like. And then we were off to the races from there,” Mayor Brosseau said.
Mayor Brosseau says its business as usual with a new team.
“It really didn’t feel no different than what I’ve done before. It’s just a different team around the table, but I felt comfortable, I felt confident, I’ve been there the last four years. I know what’s going on. So just it felt good,” Mayor Brosseau said.
