Arrest made after police vehicle rammed by stolen truck

On Oct. 25, 2021 the St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a stolen truck parked on the 4400 block of 48 Street in St.Paul. St.Paul RCMP were able to identify the driver of the vehicle. With the assistance of Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and Alberta RCMP Traffic Services the male was located nearby and arrested.

 

RCMP had actively been searching for the vehicle after it was used to ram a Bonnyville RCMP police vehicle earlier in the day.

 

Bonnyville, Alta. – On Oct. 25, 2021 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the Bonnyville RCMP had located a stolen Ford F350 parked at the Bonnyville 7-11. An RCMP officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. When the RCMP officer approached the stolen vehicle the driver put the truck in motion and rammed the RCMP vehicle causing damage. The vehicle fled the area, later to be located in St. Paul.

 

Kyle Laboucane (27) of Fishing Lake, Alta has been charged with the following offences:

  • Flight from police
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Operate a motor vehicle with prohibited
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

 

A judicial hearing was completed and Laboucane was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on November 4, 2021
