Familiar faces to sit as Chair and Vice Chair of LCSD Board

Two familiar faces will be serving as Chair and Vice Chair of the Lakeland Catholic School Division (LCSD) Board of Trustees following the board’s organizational meeting on October 20, 2021.

Diane Bauer will remain as Chair of the board for the 2021-22 school year.

Diane has served on the Lakeland Catholic Board of Trustees for one term. Before joining the board, she was Deputy Superintendent for the division and worked for three decades as a teacher and Division Leader.

“I look forward to continuing to make student-driven, faith-based decisions for Lakeland Catholic Schools as Chair of the board,” Diane said. “I am passionate about Catholic education and providing our students with opportunities to not only grow deeper in their knowledge, but also their faith.”

Diane thanked outgoing trustees Margaret Borders and Laurent Gamache for their years serving on the board.

Also, Mary Anne Penner is taking on a new role for the board. Penner, who has served on the LCSD Board of Trustees for over 30
years, has accepted the position of Vice Chair.

Before retiring in 2015, Mary Anne served as the Director of the Cold Lake Public Library for 28 years. She has served on the board for three decades and has held the position of chair, vice chair, and trustee.

“Catholic education holds a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice Chair of the LCSD Board of Trustees,” Mary Anne said.
