St. Paul shed fire deemed suspicious
A recent shed fire in St. Paul has raised the eyebrows of fire inspectors. With no utilities to the structure, the Fire Chief in St. Paul says the blaze is suspicious.
On Oct. 20, the sky in St. Paul was lit up from a shed fire as smoke filled the air around 3:00 a.m.
Trevor J. Kotowich is the Director of Protective Services, Regional Director of Emergency Management, and the Fire Chief in the Town of St. Paul.
Chief Kotowich says a 10’ x 12’ wooden shed was found fully involved with fire when crews arrived on the scene.
“It is deemed suspicious as no utilities or other sources of ignition were present in the area,” Chief Kotowich told Lakeland Connect. “Any information regarding this fire can be turned over to the RCMP.”
Chief Kotowich says crews were on scene till shortly after 4:00 a.m. and praised the timely response by the Fire Department to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings and vehicles as winds were gusty at the time of the blaze.
