Elk Point Elks Lodge presents local student with new scholarship
This year, the Elk Point Elks Lodge #460 has decided to create a scholarship strictly reserved for children or grandchildren of an Elk Point Elks member in good standing.
The first accepted application and $1000 award are being presented to Christopher Boratynec.
Lawrence Pidluzny is the Treasurer of the Elks Club and presented the award.
“We already support two other scholarships but feel that our long-term members’ efforts should somehow reflect upon their children as well,” Pidluzny told Lakeland Connect.
Those two scholarships that the Elk Point Elks Lodge #460 supports are the Elmer Bjornstad and the Steve Kuziw Memorial awards.
Pidluzny says to qualify for future scholarships you must use the scholarship to directly offset any post-secondary education expenses, have completed your Grade 12 year at the F. G. Miller Jr/Sr High School, supply a valid document of acceptance into the post-secondary institution of choice, and give some indication of being involved in some Elks-like volunteer experience or how you may have promoted a sense of community in Elk Point.
“Application forms are available from any of the Elk Point Elks members,” Pidluzny said.
Congratulations Christopher on your award.
