First weekend of NEAJBHL action in the books

The Cold Lake Ice and St. Paul Canadiens got off to great starts this weekend in the kickoff of the 2021-22 NEAJBHL season on Friday. 

The Ice went 3-0 beating the Lloyd Bandits, edging out the Vermilion Tigers 7-6 in overtime, and taking the Lac La Biche Clippers 6-2 on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, the Canadiens went to hostile territory and beat the Wainwright Bisons on the road 3-2 Friday. At the Clancy Richard Arena, the Canadiens staved off a late charge from the Bandits, who scored three goals in the last five minutes, but falling short to St. Paul 4-3. 

Lac La Biche Clippers are 0-2 losing 14-1 to the Wainwright Bison on Saturday. 

The Vermilion Tigers are also winless, as the Killam Wheat Kings downed them 4-2 on Friday. 

A marquee matchup reigns on Friday night in the first Battle of the Lakeland between the Cold Lake Ice and St. Paul Canadiens. The game gets going 8pm at Imperial Oil Place in Cold Lake.
