City of Cold Lake Municipal Enforcement report for August
Municipal Enforcement in the City of Cold Lake says it continues to provide education and enforcement engagement throughout Cold Lake high volume traffic areas.
According to a report provided to the City of Cold Lake Council, this included 35 traffic initiatives along with speed sign deployments at four locations during the month of August.
Locations included; southbound at 6 Street and 5 Avenue, 54 Street and 53 Avenue and westbound at 16 Avenue and 8 Street and 49 Street and 61 Avenue.
Municipal Enforcement told council in the report they, “Continue to actively conduct patrols of the Transfer Station, Marina, Energy Centre, public beaches, recreational areas, outdoor rinks and city facilities with patrols consisting of 209 patrols conducted in
August.”
Patrols were increased as a result of increased activity at the Kinosoo Beach and city Transfer Station. Municipal Enforcement told council “Officers provide an ongoing presence downtown by vehicle and foot patrols, which include alleys between businesses, common public gathering locations, green areas and community neighborhoods; to which Officers conducted 280 patrols throughout the community in August.”
Peace Officers conducted three Joint Force Operations with the RCMP focusing on vehicle equipment issues, speed and distracted driving
offences, with 35 traffic initiatives conducted during the month of August. In addition, 29 animal related calls for service were addressed along with three animal attack investigations.
Municipal Enforcement worked on 77 unsightly property investigations that required extensive work regarding clean-up efforts, while addressing 36 vehicle and trailer parking issues in August.
Municipal Enforcement also addressed ten nuisance and trespassing related issues during the month of August.
