Minor changes made to Scott Macdonald Memorial Day due to COVID-19

Due to the current rise of COVID-19 cases within Alberta, specifically in the Lakeland, the Bonnyville Amateur Football Association (BAFA) executive at their discretion has made the difficult decision to admen the annual Scott Macdonald Memorial Day slated for Saturday, September 18.

The BAFA will move forward with doubleheader football games in memory of Scott MacDonald; Bonnyville Bandits at 4:30 p.m. and the Bonnyville Voyagers at 7:30 p.m.

“Sadly the Bonnyville Renegades will not be hitting the field as their opponents had to forfeit this weekends game due to COVID-19 and we could not schedule an alternative game,” the BAFA stated. “Family members and fans are allowed in the stands and the concession will be open.”

The BAFA is asking all fans and family members to follow the current provincial mandates:
* Sit in the stands with only your immediate family members, or your chosen cohort if single
* Adhere to social distancing rules (two metres between families/cohorts in the stands)
* Where a mask when social distancing cannot be maintained

The Bonnyville Amateur Football Parent Associations (BAFPA) annual silent auction will be converted to an online auction, as soon as this can be organized an announcement will be made, please watch for this.

BAFPA would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the Lakeland businesses who donated towards this year’s silent auction.

Please know we are already planning for next year, the 2022/13th annual Scott MacDonald Memorial Day  will return bigger, better and more fantastic,” the BAFA stated. “Thank you for your continued support in Bonnyville Amateur Football programs and we look forward to hearing everyone cheering on Saturday.”
