Bonnyville pool closed temporarily
As a result of the provincial announcement last night, the Bonnyville Swimming Pool will be making some changes to better serve the community.
“The swimming pool will be closed temporarily while staff work to implement new health protocols announced by the province as part of the state of public health emergency on Sept. 16,” stated CAO Bill Rogers.
The Bonnyville pool will be closed Thursday, Sept. 16 and will reopen on Friday, Sept. 17. The balcony will be closed until further notice and reservations will be required for lane swim and family swim. Lane swim will be limited to three people at a time for 45 minutes each. Aquafit will also require reservations and can accommodate nine people in separate sections. Those wishing to book for Aquafit and lane swim can only do so for one week at a time.
Pool staff will also be reducing the size of swimming lessons to ensure the safety of swimmers and staff. Masks are mandatory in the facility until you are ready to swim and there will be no birthday party bookings until further notice.
All other town facilities will remain opened to the public.
Town employees will continue to follow the protocols put into place by town council, including sanitizing lobby areas, keeping protective barriers in place, and continuing other measures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.
Council opted to close their meetings to the general public during this Sept. 14 meeting, however, they will continue to be live streamed via Youtube and Facebook for residents to watch.
