Kitscoty RCMP respond to fatal motor vehicle accident

One person is dead following an MVA on Highway 619 and Range Road 32.

According to police, “On Sept. 10, shortly after 1:00 p.m., a 911 call was received for a serious collision on Highway 619 and Range Road 32.”
Traffic was rerouted for several hours and was requested to take an alternate route while emergency crews were working on the scene.

According to police, one person was declared deceased on the scene.

Kitscoty RCMP, Kitscoty Fire and Rescue Department, Vermillion Fire and Rescue Department, County of Vermillion River Protective Services, AHS ground ambulance, and Battle River Victim Services all engaged and assisted on the scene. An Alberta RCMP Collision Analyst also attended the scene.

“Crews cleared the area at 7:00 p.m. and the Highway was reopened,” County Fire Chief Kirk Hughes said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased.”

The Kitscoty RCMP investigation is ongoing. An update will be provided when available.
