$250,000 EXTRA win in Iron River!

Peter Shymchuk was surprised when he checked his LOTTO 6/49 ticket and discovered he won $250,000 on the July 14 EXTRA draw.

“I didn’t believe it at first,” he said while claiming his prize. “I gave it to the store clerk to check and started feeling really nervous.”

The Iron River local said he has one plan for his windfall: helping his family.

“I’m going to give the majority of the money to my grandchildren to help them pay for school,” he said.

Shymchuk purchased his winning ticket at Tellier Guardian Pharmacy, located at 5015 50 Avenue in Bonnyville. He won his prize by matching all seven digits of the EXTRA number drawn on July 14 – 2827957.

Check your tickets: If you’re holding on to a LOTTO 6/49 ticket from the September 30, 2020 draw, make sure to check your ticket! A ticket purchased somewhere in Calgary won $94,536.50, and the prize hasn’t yet been claimed.
The winning ticket matched five of the six main draw numbers and the Bonus number – 13, 16, 20, 21, 27 and 48, and the Bonus, 15. The winner or winners have one year from the draw date to claim the prize.
