Mounties in Bonnyville respond to break ins

Bonnyville members responded to 81 calls for service last week including six motor vehicle collisions.

On August 23, at 12:03 p.m. a resident attended the Bonnyville RCMP front counter to report his property, located on Range Road 490 near Twp 601, had been broken into.

He had attended his property on the morning of Aug 23 to find the doors open to his shop. Two vehicles were stolen along with most of his shop tools, including welders.

The stolen vehicles included a silver Ford F-350 which has been recovered and a white Ford F450 flat deck with a Lincoln welder on the back. The outstanding vehicle has been added to CPIC. This investigation is ongoing and any information that the public can provide can be reported to the Bonnyville RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

On Aug 25, at 12:30 a.m., a Mountie initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle for documents and impaired check after the vehicle was noted to have stopped for an extended period of time at a stop sign. The driver, a 28-year-old male from Kehewin blew caution and was found to be a GDL driver. Provincial sanctions were issued to the driver.

On Aug 27, at 9:12 a.m., a job trailer parked behind Ducharme Motors was reported broken into overnight. The complainant arrived and found the south window open and the security bars were ripped out and tossed on the ground. A Hiltie DX5 powder actuated tool was stolen. Security cameras are being viewed and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone who has any information on this break and enter is asked to contact the local RCMP.
