Man charged for pulling imitation firearm on customer leaving pharmacy

One man has been charged in Bonnyville for allegedly pulling a imitation firearm on a customer as they were leaving a pharmacy.

Sgt. Kim Hillier from the RCMP told Lakeland Connect on August 24, at 6:16 p.m., the RCMP responded to a priority call of a report that a suspect had pulled a firearm out at a customer as they were leaving pharmacy.

“The customer was able to get away from the suspect and the suspect had left on foot,” Sgt. Kim Hillier said. “Members attended and located the male matching the description as provided by the victim and the store employee.”

It is unclear which pharmacy the attempted robbery occurred at.

A 35-year-old man, Kelsey Lessard of Bonnyville, has been charged with robbery and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an offence.

He was brought before a justice of the peace and released on $1000 no cash bail to appear in court in Bonnyville on September 21, 2021.
