The Alberta government is investing nearly $700,000 to support improvements in bridges and road infrastructure in the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul constituency. This money will help the counties complete various rural road projects through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP).

“I’m very pleased to see this funding for our roads in the Bonnyville and the St. Paul area as these roads have needed improvements for some time now,” MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul, David Hanson said. “Approving these projects is a welcome investment for our communities in terms of both jobs and overall wellbeing.”

MLA Hanson says $561,000 is going towards two bridge culvert replacement projects in St. Paul county. While $128,040 will be allocated toward curb and gutter improvements on 50th Avenue in Bonnyville.

“STIP funding will support rural and smaller urban municipalities with local transportation infrastructure. Now more than ever, strong infrastructure is vital to attracting investment, and this funding will help ensure they have the roads and bridges they need to grow sustainably, while also creating much-needed jobs.” Minister of Transportation, Rajan Sawhney said.
