Dove Centre looking for three board of directors

The Dove Centre is a non-profit organization operating in the Lakeland since 1973 and they are looking for three new board of directors.

“We support independence for a meaningful and inclusive quality of life and provide the supports necessary for people to reach their full potential,” the  Dove Centre stated in a news release. “We believe in natural connections between persons supported and the community.”

Part of the Dove Centre’s vision is to facilitate these connections. The Dove Centre promotes inclusion, strives for acceptance, and knows that a fulfilling, independent life is always achievable.

The three positions are available as of Aug. 25, 2021.

“As a member of the Board of Directors for Dove Centre, you will have an opportunity to offer valuable input and strategic direction to help advance Dove Centre’s mission and vision,” the Dove Centre stated.

The governance role of the Board of Directors is to further Dove Centre’s vision and mission by establishing organizational direction and monitoring progress.

The Board typically meets monthly, in person up to eight times per year. These meetings are typically held at the main Dove Centre office in Bonnyville.

The Dove Centre promotes valued community membership by facilitating opportunities for natural connections through employment, volunteering, recreation and social relationships.
