The Bonnyville RCMP was dispatched to 187 calls for service last week.

Just after midnight on July 30, a Bonnyville RCMP member conducted a roadside check with a vehicle that did not have registration. The 43-year-old male driver from Kehewin was suspended and on Warrant. He was arrested and charged with, Driving while Unauthorized under the Criminal Code charged under the Traffic Safety Act for Operating without Insurance, Without Registration, and for Misuse of a Licence Plate. The 30-year-old male passenger from Kehewin was also on Warrant for charges laid by Edmonton Police Service and arrested.

On Aug 3, at 2:00 p.m. Bonnyville RCMP was dispatched to be on the lookout for a yellow Chevrolet Monte Carlo driving in Bonnyville without a licence plate. A member located the vehicle and conducted a roadside check with the driver who was a Prohibited Driver and found to be on Warrant. The 38-year-old male from Kehewin was arrested on his warrant and further charged with three Criminal Code offences and three Traffic Safety Act offences.

Over last weekend, two local businesses and a residence were broken into. One business is located in the 6500 block of 52 Avenue and the other on Range Road 453 near Township Road 611. These two matters are still under investigation. The residential break-in took place on Highway 659 a few kilometres East of Bonnyville and a charge is pending in that matter the RCMP says.

On August 4, at 3:00 a.m. the RCMP were dispatched to the parking lot of a local hotel for a fight. Two individuals who were on Restraining Orders were participants in the fight. A 29-year-old male from Red Deer is charged with Disobeying a Court Order and a 28-year-old female from Red Deer is charged with Disobeying a Court Order and two counts of Failing to Comply with Release Conditions.

On August 5, just after 8:00 p.m., the RCMP were dispatched to deal with an intoxicated male trying to fight strangers in a downtown Bonnyville business and then pedestrians walking past the business. Upon police arrival, the male tried to fight with members but was arrested without further incident and lodged in cells until sober. The male faces two counts under the Gaming Liquor & Cannabis Act.

Also, RCMP Traffic Services were conducting enforcement patrols in Bonnyville last weekend and charged over 20 motorists with failing to wear their seatbelts.
