Town of Vermilion inviting participants to “Open for Business” parade

The Town of Vermilion would like to invite you to participate in this year’s “Open for Business” parade.

The parade will be held on July 29, will begin at the Lakeland Mall and end at the Vermilion Hospital.

“On behalf of the Town of Vermilion, we would like to invite you to join us in participating in this year’s parade,” the Town of Vermilion stated. “Everyone is looking forward to a spectacular morning of entertainment and celebration of community. We encourage you to pull inspiration from this year’s Parade theme.”

This year’s theme is “Open  for Business.”

Parade Entry Categories include:

  • Commerical
  • Out of Town
  • Sr. Organization
  • Jr. Organization
  • Comic
  • Decorated Car
  • Antique Decorated Bike
  • Decorated Pony

Pre-registration is not required and there is no entry fee to enter the parade. All parade entries must be in the marshalling area at the Vermilion Mall parking lot at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 for judging and placement. Please enter at the railway crossing on 44 Street and Railway Avenue for marshalling. Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the parade will start promptly at 11:00 a.m.

Important Information

  1. A parade isn’t a parade without music and we encourage all floats to incorporate music into your entry.
  2. Candy and promotional materials are not permitted to be thrown from the float. Walkers may hand out candy alongside the float. All Candy and giveaway items must be handed to spectators.
  3. The use of water guns and water balloons are strictly prohibited to be used during the parade.
  4. Please become familiar with the 2021 parade route map.
